Ski-Doo Snowmobiles, in collaboration with Backcountry Access (BCA) and Avalanche 1, will once again help provide free avalanche awareness this fall for riders of all brands of snowmobiles. There is a new approach this year, however, as the seminars will be held online in a series of 16 short episodes. The online format will let riders learn at a pace that fits their schedule and it will be easy to re-watch sections or episodes as needed to understand the material completely. These online seminars are not to serve as replacements for actual in-field training with organizations such as AIARE, but will help riders understand the importance of getting training and understanding the serious nature of the situations they’ll face on the snow.
The online seminars will start in late September 2020 with two per week released on the Ski-Doo website www.ski-doo.com/avalanche.html and be available as a resource all year.
